Welcome to the CMBA Fall Blogathon! Early Shadows & Pre-Code Horror

It's time for Classic Movie Blog Association's fall blogathon, titled a look at Early Shadows & Pre-Code Horror. CMBA members have chosen horror movies and themes to write about from early silent cinema through the pre-Code era up to 1934. Their stories look at moves that blend horror and societal unease, revealing terror not only in monsters but in human frailty, darker instincts, and existential dread.

Our blogathon will have new entries posted from Nov. 10-14, 2025 so check back during that time and check us out on social media, too.
